They say that was not born of God the Father, but created like one of the archangels, and even more, that he rules over the angels and over everything that was made by the Almighty, and that he came and announced, as it says in the gospel, the one called "According to the Hebrews," "I came to do away with sacrifices, and if you don't stop sacrificing, you won't stop experiencing wrath." οὐ φάσκουσι δὲ ἐκ θεοῦ πατρὸς αὐτὸν γεγεννῆσθαι, ἀλλὰ κεκτίσθαι ὡς ἕνα τῶν ἀρχαγγέλων [καὶ ἔτι περισσοτέρως], αὐτὸν δὲ κυριεύειν καὶ ἀγγέλων καὶ πάντων «τῶν» ὑπὸ τοῦ παντοκράτορος πεποιημένων, καὶ ἐλθόντα καὶ ὑφηγησάμενον, ὡς τὸ παρ᾿ αὐτοῖς εὐαγγέλιον καλούμενον περιέχει, ὅτι “ἦλθον καταλῦσαι τὰς θυσίας, καὶ ἐὰν μὴ παύσησθε τοῦ θύειν, οὐ παύσεται ἀφ᾿ ὑμῶν ἡ ὀργή.”
