Texts

(1) Thom 35

Jesus said, "One can't enter a strong man's house and take it by force without tying his hands. 2 Then one can loot his house." [Complete Gospels]

No copies of this portion of Thomas survive in Greek. For the Coptic version see [Early Christian Writings]

(2) Mark 3:27 = Matt 12:29 = Luke 11:21-22

But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his property without first tying up the strong man; then indeed the house can be plundered.

(Mark 3:27 GNT-T)

= Matt 12:29

Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his property, without first tying up the strong man? Then indeed the house can be plundered.

(Matthew 12:29 GNT-T)

= Luke 11:21-22

When a strong man, fully armed, guards his castle, his property is safe. 22 But when one stronger than he attacks him and overpowers him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted and divides his plunder.

(Luke 11:21–22 GNT-T)
